RaceScreen multi-layer tear off film is available for glass and polycarbonate windscreens.  We introduced tear off film to V8 Supercars in 2009 when heated, glass windscreens were still in use.  It was found to prolong the life of the windscreens by four times on average.  It is now a controlled part on the Gen3 Supercars.  Tear off film will protect windscreens from general wear and tear.

RaceScreen tear offs are pre-layered and heat moulded to shape.  Kits are supplied ready to fit and with detailed installation instructions, making it a straightforward job for your local window tinter.  Alternatively, make a once off purchase of our installation kit and DIY.  The only tool required but not included is a heat gun.

RaceScreen tear off film is a premium, thicker 4 mil (0.1mm) film for superior protection.  Tear off kits are available in 2, 3, 4 and 5 layer stacks.  The more layers, the more protection.

Tear off film is not permitted for road registered vehicles, it is suitable for motorsport and track day use only.

RACESCREEN TEAR OFFS
FOR POLYCARBONATE WINDSCREENS

Polycarbonate windscreens require a base layer of film as well as the tear off film to achieve optimum adhesion to the screen.  Please note, the bottom tear off cannot be removed from the base layer.  Polycarbonate is a dynamic product which expands and contracts with changes in temperature.  When the windscreen heats up, it expands outwards which stretches the tear offs.  When the windscreen cools down and contracts, the tear off film can then bubble up.  Once tear off film is applied, cars should not be left sitting out in the sun.  They should be garaged or have a reflective windscreen cover.  When cars are running on track they generally don’t get hot enough for this to be an issue.
